On Saturday, December 19th, 2020 we joined in celebrating “‘Tis the Season” at the Musical Instrument Museum. Featuring holiday celebrations from around the world. Flamenco was performed at 11:30am, 1:30pm and 3:30pm. Performances featured Spanish villancicos, including zambomba from Jerez de la Frontera, and a journey through the significance of song and celebration through centuries of Spanish history to celebrate this special time of year. Performers included dancers Julia Chacon and Martin Gaxiola, singer Olivia Rojas, and guitarist Misael Barraza Diaz. Other music styles at hte event included Klezmer, African Kwanzaa storytelling, Holiday Harp music, crafts, and more.
It was an honor to perform at this one-of-a-kind museum at this special time of year and to be joined by friends in the audience. Thank you Ileana and Sierra for including us and the wonderful programming, and thank you Rebecca Strange for the great photos!
